Terms and Conditions for Tuition

1. If we can offer the tuition you request on the tuition enquiry form, we will send you a link to an enrolment form. Once completed and signed by the student and the person responsible for paying the fees, you may be called for interview. If a place is offered, the registration fee is payable. The place will only be secured once the tuition fees have also been paid.

2. Fees are payable in advance and are due by the first day of term. Monthly payments in advance may also be acceptable but will incur additional charges.

3. Timetables may be altered at short notice should circumstances demand it.

4. It is not possible to make refunds for students who miss tutorials for any reason. Tutorials can be rearranged, subject to the tutor's availability; 24 hours' notice to the tutor is required to rearrange, or the fee for that session remains payable. If you do not take all the tutorials that have been paid for before the end of term there will be no refund, except where tutorials have been missed solely because the tutor has been unavailable at the booked dates/times. We suggest fee payers consider taking out an insurance policy against the cost of tutorials lost through illness.

6. The college reserves the right to refuse entry to public examinations or to release results if the tuition fees have not been paid in full.

7. Notice of withdrawal of half a term for each subject is required or half a term's fees will be payable in lieu of notice. An admin fee of £50 per subject applies to withdrawals.

8. A student may be asked to leave by the Principal in cases of serious misconduct. Under these circumstances fees for the whole of that term remain payable.

9. The college reserves the right to terminate a student’s tuition contract without cause, in which case fees for the remainder of that term will be refunded after deducting an admin fee of £50 per subject.

10. The college does not accept responsibility for students' personal possessions.

11. Students, their relatives and/or guardians may not approach our tutors with a view to soliciting their services other than through us for a period of 2 years after tuition through us ends.

12. All teaching materials used in our tutorials are the property of Wessex Tutors & Exam Centre Ltd or of our tutors and may not be re-used, shared or passed on to third parties without written permission.

Terms and Conditions for Exams

1. If we can offer the exams you request on the exams enquiry form, we will send you a link to the application form and ask for a first payment of £50 towards the full fees, to cover admin costs. Once the form is correctly completed and signed by the candidate (or the parent/guardian if the candidate is under 18), and once the £50 payment has been received, we will then advise the full fees. The place will only be secured once the fees have been paid in full.

2. If applicable, (Wessex tuition students only) evidence for 25% extra time or rest breaks must be submitted before October half term.

3. It is your responsibility to determine the correct entry code, including option, tier and carry forward codes, for each of the exams you want to take.

4. It is your responsibility to check on each statement of entry that you are entered for the correct exam code (including any options), that all the information is correct and that you inform us immediately by email of any changes that are needed.

5. Any amendments to your entry received before our entry deadline will incur a fee of £50 in addition to any fee levied by the exam board. Any such amendments received after that deadline will incur a fee of £100. Any such amendments received after 19th March will incur a fee of £150.Such changes will only be accepted by email.

7. We reserve the right to refuse entry to public examinations or to release results if any tuition fees have not been paid in full.

8. A candidate may be asked to leave by the Principal in cases of serious misconduct. Under these circumstances there will be no refund and no results or certificates will be provided.

9. We do not accept responsibility for candidates' personal possessions.

10. Candidates must provide their own exam equipment and any texts that are allowed. If something is forgotten or does not work we will provide equipment or texts on request, where we have them and subject to availability. We are not responsible for telling candidates what to bring. We must take away anything that candidates are not allowed to have in the exam, such as programmable calculators that are not clearly in exam mode, or texts with annotations. We do not accept liability for the correct functioning of any exam equipment we provide.

11. Exam fee refunds will all be subject to our admin fee of £50, apart from this the amount will depend on the date of withdrawal: we will give a full refund if withdrawal is before our initial entry deadline (see Exams page).
